Happy New Year 2010. It is weird to say out loud, but as was 2000, we''ll all get used to eventually. Welcome to the first Monday of the New Year, it''s time to get moving on those resolutions you made for this year. Here are a few tips to keep you focused on what it is that you want to accomplish this year.

  • Keep your goal simple. Sit down and really think about what you want to do, maybe its to lose 10 pounds or perhaps clean out your garage. Whatever it may be, keep it as direct and to the point as possible.
  • Determine the Finish. A goal is empty unless you select a start and FINISH date. If you put it down in your personal calendar, your blog and/or your office calendar, you are more likely to feel responsible and complete the goal by this date.
  • Break it Down. So what, you want to lose 10 pounds by May 30th, 2010. How are you going to get there? Those 10 pounds are going to magically disappear on May 29th, 2010. Create a smaller weekly or monthly goal which will help you get to the ultimate goal by your finish date.
