As a small company from Oregon, we are big fans of the Pacific Northwest. We know that not all of our readers are so lucky to come from the North West, so we’ve decided to share some of our favorite local Oregon companies, some of which have online options! Next time you’re in the area, be sure to stop by one of these spots—you’ll feel like a local in no time!

French Quarter Linens

Upscale and quirky, French Quarter Linens have called Portland, OR home since 1995. Offering a variety of luxury linens and textiles for every taste, French Quarter caters to the Portland vibe of quantity over quality. They currently have only one location, in Portland’s lustrous Pear District, but they reach customers all over the world via their web-store.

Oblation Papers

Custom papers, invitations, announcements, and paper supplies are at the heart of Portland’s Oblation Papers. Since 1989, this company has provided Portlanders with old-world style letterpress and paper made the old-fashioned way--by hand! In true Oregon style, this company is also green, utilizing 100% recycled cotton and other fibers to create and re-create new paper! Located in Portland’s Pearl District, they offer both in-store and online sales.

Powell’s Books

If you’re from Oregon, it is a mandatory rite of passage to make a trip to Powell’s City of Books—the largest new and used book store in the nation! Occupying three stories of what used to be a downtown Portland car dealership, Powell’s has been buying and selling new and used books for over 35 years. Whatever you’re searching for, you’re sure to find it in one of the shops’ 9 color-coded rooms that house over 1,000,000 volumes! What makes it even better is that you can browse and order directly from their website, or by phone to their call center!

The Lizard Lounge

Not your average clothing store, the Lizard Lounge offers a unique blend of lounge, café, and shop atmospheres all rolled into one. Offering Stumptown coffee, Horny Toad clothing and accessories, free WiFi, live music and numerous spots to hang out and relax, the Lizard Lounge is a must stop on anyone’s list of Portland to-dos.

Stumptown Coffee

Coffee connoisseurs abound in the Pacific Northwest, and Portland based Stumptown Coffee Roasters caters to the caffeinated in the perfect blend of local flavor and eco-conscious practices. Offering beans from around the world, and only through fair-trade farms, Stumptown has become a Portland staple for not only whole bean sales, but coffee shops as well. Be sure to visit one next time you’re in the rose city, but you can buy beans through their site any time!
