Murphy bed raises and lowers the mattress on the side, rather than the foot of the bed.
Standing 19 inches shorter than our standard queen Mission Murphy bed, our Horizontal bed is ideal in basements and lofts where ceiling constraints pose a problem. People looking to expand their homes through remodel or costly room additions have found that they can convert their unused basement into a guest room with the simple addition of the Mission Horizontal Murphy bed – for a fraction of the cost.
Our Mission Horizontal bed is also ideal in situations where floor space is at a minimum. While the standard queen Mission bed requires 84 inches of floor space when engaged, our Horizontal
Murphy bed only projects 64 inches. Smaller rooms benefit from having the additional 20 inches, which can be used to add other functional furniture pieces, such as an office desk or exercise equipment.
This piece of furniture was constructed using 100% Green wood. All woods have been harvested from
FSC certified forests and have been awarded
LEED credits.

Piston Mechanisms
This bed has a lifetime warranty on the air-piston mechanism. This warranty applies to all metal parts, and only applies to the original Murphy bed owner. If you ever have a mechanism problem, contact our Customer Service department for more information on piston replacement. This warranty is not applicable for rental or commercial properties.

When engaged, how much weight can this wallbed support?
Our Mission Horizontal Murphy beds have been designed to support two individuals, up to 500 pounds each.
Under the dimensions section above there are measurements listed under ‘Projection’. What do these measurements tell me?
These measurements tell you the depth of the Horizontal hide a bed once engaged. In other words, when the bed is down, the projection is the measurement from the wall to the end of the bed.
*Note that while our standard queen folding wall bed projects 84 inches, our horizontal Murphy bed only projects 64 inches, saving you 20 inches of valuable floor space!
What type of mattress do I need?
You can use any standard mattress from any company provided the depth of the mattress is no more than 12 inches. This will allow you to leave the bed made (minus the pillows).
