Is the cabinetry seen on the front of the Hudson Murphy bed functional? Do the drawers pull out?

All of the front paneling and detailed trim work on the front of our Hudson Murphy Beds are purely aesthetic. Since many of our folding beds are used in studio and loft spaces, the beds are in focal view all day. By designing the Hudson Murphy Bed to look like a fully functional armoire, it will coordinate perfectly within any space while elegantly concealing its true function.

Can I request a finish sample?

Of course you can! To obtain a sample swatch please use the following Color Swatch Request Form. If you require more than 2 colors, please contact our customer service department at 1-800-975-8451.

Is installation hard?

The installation for this wall bed is actually quite simple. All you will need are a few tools, a ladder and a power drill for mounting. Installation time varies depending on specific upgrades, but generally takes most customers 90 minutes.

What type of mattress do I need?

You can use any standard mattress from any company provided the depth of the mattress is no more than 12 inches. This will allow you to leave the bed made (minus the pillows).

I now have an office without a bed. I have wanted a Murphy bed for 20 years and happened upon your website. Couldn't be happier. When I was missing a bolt to put it together, I called and had excellent and friendly customer service along with instant satisfaction (received it in the mail the next day along with extras). I have been entirely happy with my Old Creek Murphy bed (Hudson style). One point worth mentioning is that I paid the extra fee to have it put together. The company (or people representing the company) had never put one of these beds together and at one time they actually had a piece upside down. Together, we were able to put it together but in retrospect I would have just had my contractor (who attached the bed to the wall) put it together.
I've had one need for adjustment when. for some reason it wasn't closing in a symmetrical way (more room on one side than the other). i had my contractor come out and adjust it.
In addition to the bed, I bought a closed bookcase with drawers which has a drop down desk (form the door). It is attached right next to the bed and gives a very handsome look.
Everyone at Old Creek has been courteous and very helpful. Plus,,,I love the Kitchen Aid mixer I got as a bonus. Thanks so much. (Posted on 6/14/10)

I absolutely LOVE my wall bed. It was one of the best investments I've ever made. We have a small bedroom that we use as an office and when we have guest over we can just pull the wall bed down and convert the office into a guest room. People are amazed at how comfortable it is as well as extremely sturdy. I am considering another one in the future! (Posted on 5/24/10)

I love the bed I purchased. It looks great is very well made and guests love sleeping on it. I added the lights and a memory foam matteress, which just makes it even more of a hit. This was a very well made, real wood product that used excellent quality materials.

The Wall Bed Company Murphy Bed is exactly what we wanted. The quality is good and it is easy to use and best of all it looks like a nice cabinet when we are not using it. It had a minor scratch due to shipping, but we were able to get some stain/finish from the factory and it is nearly impossible to see any damage.

Very happy with my bed. Overall quality is very very good. Only problem I've had is one of the legs is not completely straight when it's pulled out and being used but it hasn't really been an issue as far being able to use the bed.

This is not only a beautiful piece of furniture, it is functional and very high quality. We use it everyday and it is perfect. I will definitely get another one for our guest house and one for our vacation home - it is a real space saver and I really like that no one realizes that it is a bed.
