Piston Mechanisms

This bed has a lifetime warranty on the air-piston mechanism. This warranty applies to all metal parts, and only applies to the original Murphy bed owner. If you ever have a mechanism problem, contact our Customer Service department for more information on piston replacement. This warranty is not applicable for rental or commercial properties.

Where are the legs on the Camden Bed?

On the Camden bed the legs are actually built into the frame of the board on the front of the bed. These creates a much sleeker look for the face of your Murphy bed, without giving up any functionality.

Can I request a finish sample?

Of course you can! To obtain a sample swatch please use the following Color Swatch Request Form. If you require more than 2 colors, please contact our customer service department at 1-800-975-8451.

Is installation hard?

The installation for this wall bed is actually quite simple. All you will need are a few tools, a ladder and a power drill for mounting. Installation time varies depending on specific upgrades, but generally takes most customers 90 minutes.

What type of mattress do I need?

You can use any standard mattress from any company provided the depth of the mattress is no more than 12 inches. This will allow you to leave the bed made (minus the pillows).

I bought the bed for my office/spare room and it looks and works great!! I have the space when I need the room as my office and the Queen bed when I have guest which is ofter. I bought the optional cabinet with table that folds up/down for use and it works great for kids homework. I did buy the murphy bed unit with the white erase board and it looks nice.

This bed solved our guest room problem - we wanted a comfortable bed that didn't take up too much space when not in use. It is easy to put up and down and is very comfortable to sleep on - we know because we slept on it for a week while our master bedroom floor was redone. It was easy to install and looks great. The only problem we've had with it is the sharp corners when the bed is down - you need to watch your shins a bit when walking around it. We have corner protectors on it.

We're happy that you spent a little time on the bed yourselves, you can truly appreciate the difference between a Murphy bed and a sofa pullout for your future guests. The corners are little sharp, some people are more sensitive to them then others. Nice job on the corner protectors!
