Piston Mechanisms

This bed has a lifetime warranty on the air-piston mechanism. This warranty applies to all metal parts, and only applies to the original Murphy bed owner. If you ever have a mechanism problem, contact our Customer Service department for more information on piston replacement. This warranty is not applicable for rental or commercial properties.

When engaged, how much weight can this wallbed support?

Our Horizontal Murphy beds have been designed to support two individuals, up to 500 pounds each.

Can I request a finish sample?

Of course you can! To obtain a sample swatch please use the following Color Swatch Request Form. If you require more than 2 colors, please contact our customer service department at 1-800-975-8451.

Under the dimensions section above, there are measurements listed under ‘Projection’. What do these measurements tell me?

These measurements tell you the depth of the Horizontal hide a bed once engaged. In other words, when the bed is down, the projection is the measurement from the wall to the end of the bed.

*Note that while our standard queen folding wall bed projects 84 inches, our horizontal Murphy bed only projects 64 inches, saving you 20 inches of valuable floor space!

What type of mattress do I need?

You can use any standard mattress from any company provided the depth of the mattress is no more than 12 inches. This will allow you to leave the bed made (minus the pillows).

I really love my Murphy Bed. I have wanted to purchase a Murphy Bed for years, and I finally did it, and I am so pleased. All of my friends come over to see it, and they just love it. Most have no clue that there is a bed in that beautiful Oak cabinet. (Posted on 9/30/09)

The bed is so comfortable; really improved my sleep pattern. Previously, I slept on a single mattress, similar to a tempurpedic-brand. The Old Creek mattress (the average model) was much improved. The aesthetic appearance and high-quality item really added beauty to my open living space. The solid wood construction was worth the cost and greatly improved the marketability of my townhome during its sale.
