This bed has a lifetime warranty on the air-piston mechanism. This warranty applies to all metal parts, and only applies to the original Murphy bed owner. If you ever have a mechanism problem, contact our Customer Service department for more information on piston replacement. This warranty is not applicable for rental or commercial properties.

How hard is it to assemble the Abbott?

Its actually a lot simpler than you would think. The Abbott will come unassembled; it will be broken down into a single wall bed, four side towers and one single crown piece. We will include detailed instructions and most can assemble the Abbott in approximately 3 hours.

Can I request a finish sample?

Of course you can! To obtain a sample swatch please use the following Color Swatch Request Form. If you require more than 2 colors, please contact our customer service department at 1-800-975-8451.

Is installation hard?

The installation for this wall bed is actually quite simple. All you will need are a few tools, a ladder and a power drill for mounting. Installation time varies depending on specific upgrades, but generally takes most customers 90 minutes.

What type of mattress do I need?

You can use any standard mattress from any company provided the depth of the mattress is no more than 12 inches. This will allow you to leave the bed made (minus the pillows).

Really appreciate that you were able to modify the crown to fit available space in a timber frame home. Cabinet options perfect and the entire unit looks like it was custom built on site.

Design and engineering of the unit is terrific and we were able to install it (with contractor help) in about an hour.

Biggest challenge was in moving the two 700 lb crates from the too large delivery truck (for our road) to a pickup truck. Typical Maine issue.

Electrical wiring is a bit on the cheap side but getting the lights is still worth it. Found myself using a screw driver to allow the plug to fit into the socket since the female side was bent. Wood is great. Stain smell absolutely horrible. Hopefully it is low VOC stain? My bed was even sitting in the warehouse for 5 months and it is still smells too strong! Bed appartatus and function is awesome. Aesthically it is awesome. Check your location for shipping, usually fedex; however, fed ex will hire 3rd party in some locations and hard too schedule proper time window. Important when you need to hire movers to get the bed into your apartment. 3rd party showed up 4 hours early. Better early than late although. Easy to put together good directions. Excellent Service and communication by Wall bed company. Overall very happy and would reccomend to a friend.

Thank you for your honesty, we appreciate you taking the time to write a thorough review of your experience. The stain can be a little overwhelming, especially when you have as many pieces as with the Abbott. For all of our oil finish beds we use General Finishes Danish Oil. Your order was actually packaged and set aside in storage so that it did not get damaged, which probably caused the stain to become a little bit more pungent.
We're sorry about the shipping mishap, FedEx is a great shipping partner, its just when they have to off-load to a smaller carrier that things can get a little "iffy". Please feel free to contact us should ever need anything.

This bed is amazing. It was everything you said it would be. It was easy to assemble, the craftsmanship is outstanding, ordering was easy and you answered my question when I called before and after I ordered the bed.
